How to get there

Driving

If you feel comfortable driving, we recommend you rent a car! (but, remember if you’re coming from America that they drive on the opposite side of the road over here). There are many beautiful places to see in the South West of England and they’re most accessible via car.

You can rent a car from many places in London or at either airport. The drive from either Heathrow or Gatwick is about 3 hours directly to Tiverton and there are many beautiful and historic places along the way (you’ll drive right past Stonehenge. See Things to do page for more).

Train from Heathrow

There are usually many direct flights from the US to London Heathrow. Once you get to Heathrow, you'll need to get the train into London Paddington and then down to Devon.

1. Take the Elizabeth Line or Heathrow Express from London Heathrow to London Paddington Station

2. From Paddington station, there are direct trains to Tiverton Parkway about every hour. The train is about 2 hours long.

The Trainline App is a good way to search for train times and book tickets in advance.

3. Find Taxi information below to travel from the train to your hotel of choice.

Train From Gatwick

This is a longer journey if you are coming straight from the airport to Devon by train.

1. Take the train to Reading (c.1hr 30 mins) or you can take the train to London Victoria and take the underground to Paddington.

2. There is a train from Reading (1hr 30 mins) or London Paddington (c.2 hr) to Tiverton Parkway every hour.

The Trainline App is a good way to search for train times and book tickets in advance.

3. Find Taxi information below to travel from the train to your hotel of choice.

Getting around once you’re there

THERE IS NO UBER IN DEVON!! and taxis are difficult to book at short notice. Be sure to book Taxis in advance!! If you have any trouble booking, reach out to Margo (+44 7825 732852) or Pat Connolly (+1 516 413-9997).
